I stand correctly…

So you decided to put together your own birthday party for your 5 year old. So you have the treats – check, you have goody bags – check, decorations – check, cake, check. Then you realize you have nothing to put the cupcakes on or the cake. Now what? Lay it flat on the table or make them stand out and shine so everyone can envy you for what you pulled off. Here’s a quick way to create a cupcake stand for less than $10.00. Here’s what you will need:

  1. Gold Chargers (Dollar Tree)
  2. Glass candy bowls, short vases, etc. (Dollar Tree)
  3. Pink Confetti (Dollar Tree)
  4. Glue Gun with glue stick

Now that you have all of your items. Let’s put them together. Begin dividing the bag of confetti and put them in your glass dish/vase. Then add Gold Chargers or whatever color Charger you chose on top of glass dish with confetti inside the glass dish, see which looks best to you. Once you have them set up start to glue the bottom of the Chargers to the top or bottom of glass and stick them together. Make set overnight or as long as possible. Voila your stand is ready for cupcakes, cakes or treats for your birthday party, baby shower or whatever event of your choice. Enjoy! Have you ever created your own cake stand? If so share your ideas here.

Easter Scramble & Easter Egg Hunt Ideas

This year Easter is March 27th. Children love when Easter comes because they get to visit the Easter Bunny and take photos, decorate eggs, have Easter egg hunts, and more. I used to have my daughter and nieces search for plastic eggs and I would hide goodies in them. Whether it was jelly beans, chocolate eggs, stickers or even money. I would put anywhere from a penny to a $20.00 bill. However much they found is what they won. You can always go the traditional route and boil eggs and have the children decorate them.

This year after the kids have decorated their eggs. Give them an activity to do. I have created an Easter Scramble FREE for you to download and print (please see link below) as many times as you like or share. Have children unscramble the words in a certain amount of time, whoever unscramble the most words wins a prize. While they are unscrambling words you can go out and hide all of those adorable decorated Easter eggs for the Easter Egg Hunt.

What are some party ideas/activities you do for Easter?

5 Reasons to Have a Party This Spring

Today is March 20, 2016, the 1st day of Spring. Spring is one of my favorite seasons because there are plenty of reasons to have a party not to mention the weather is not too hot and not too cold. The April Showers brings the May flowers. Spring brings so many reasons to celebrate and have a party. Five occasions  you should start thinking about now on how you will celebrate.

  1. Easter – March 27th. Time for Easter Brunches, Dinners, Easter Egg Coloring, Easter Egg hunt and more. Getting all the spring colors together to dye those dozens of eggs you need to boil or buying plastic eggs to hide little treasures in and hide so the little kids can jump for joy. The possibilities are endless.
  2. Spring Break – Depending where you live spring break for the kids in April. If you are not going away on vacation for spring break you have to think of little ideas to do at home to keep the little ones occupied. Why not throw a movie themed party. Make popcorn, cupcakes, and more.
  3. Mother’s Day – May 8th. I am a mom and of course I have a mom and I am thankful that she is still living. It’s a great day to honor your mom or someone who has raised you or has been like a mom to you. Whether it’s your aunt, sister, mom, anyone who is a mother. Bring them altogether and make breakfast for them. Bring them flowers or fruit flowers from edible arrangements. Have a lunch/dinner party. Have the kids perform there many talents for them, make a talent show!
  4. Graduations – It’s a huge accomplishment and should be recognized by having a graduation party.  May and June brings flowers and sunshine. It’s time to bring the parties outdoors with a barbecue. That’s right if you haven’t brought out the grill. It’s time to clean the grill. Have a cookout and bring family and friends together to celebrate the Grad. Find out the grads school colors. If they are going off to college find out the college school colors. If not use their high school colors. If they are graduating from Pre-K decorate in their favorite colors. Get a photo booth or create your own with your own backdrop and  your own props. Play games such as bingo, cards, field day games, scavenger hunt, water balloon fight and more.
  5. Memorial Day – May 30th. Celebrate by honoring our Civil War Heroes. Now that your grill is cleaned it’s time for another cookout. Red, white and blue theme!  You can bring the colorful strawberries, blueberries, and bananas to make a colorful fruit salad highlighting the red, white and blue theme. You can decorate cupcakes with red and blue. Play bingo, cards, and more. You can also break out the photo props for some creative memories.

Do you see why I love Spring so much. Several events that you can be held outdoors or indoors. The weather is beautiful and the birds begin to chirp. Get ready to do your spring cleaning and prepare for your events. Stay tuned for more party ideas and templates that you can enjoy for the above parties. Can you think of other reasons to have a party this spring?
